3. General Information on Data Processing

a) Subject and Purpose of Processing Personal Data

The website is used solely to provide information and public relations. No personal data of users is actively processed.

b) Recipients of Data

The website is hosted on RWTH Aachen University servers. No personal data is shared with third parties.

c) Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data

The processing of personal data in connection with providing the website is carried out within the scope of the university’s public relations responsibilities. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(e), para. 3 GDPR in conjunction with § 3(1) DSG NRW and §§ 3, 8(6) HG NRW.

d) Data Deletion and Retention Period

Since no personal data is actively processed, there is no storage. Server log files are deleted after a maximum of 7 days or anonymized.

4. Provision of the Website and Creation of Log Files

a) Subject and Purpose

When accessing the website, the following data is temporarily stored in log files:

• Date and time of access
• User IP address
• Request details and target URL
• Name of the accessed file
• Amount of data transferred
• Status of access (successful or not)
• Browser type and version
• User’s operating system
• Internet service provider
• Referring website

This data is used to ensure proper website operation and IT security, particularly to protect against cyber attacks.

c) Data Deletion and Retention Period

Log files are deleted or anonymized after a maximum of 7 days so that assignment to the user device is no longer possible.

We do not use cookies and do not employ any tracking methods.
